An examination of a late planting

A week by week look at a late planting

As you can see, the squash and the watermelon are doing great - as usual, something is eating my pepper plants. The tomatoes are getting to be a nice size, but so far the ones I have harvested have not been great - I do expect that to change as they are now producing more of the fruit. The squash is perfect - in fact, I am going to fry the one pictured tonight!
The corn is growing very well - it is supposed to take approximately 72 days from first sign to harvest, so it should, if things go properly, be ready in mid September - Ahhhh, fresh roasted corn!
The cucumbers (above left) are starting to take off, and I expect them to be spreading as good as the squash is - I harvest more squash the day before yesterday, and it looks like there will be plenty of that to give away. The watermelons (below left) are going great guns, and the green beans (below right) are slightly ahead of the cucumbers.
Greek Oregano - it comes back every year, like an old friend! I have this one planted right next to my Rosemary
