Conservative Thoughts and Views

The centrists in the Republican Party have, for too many years now, failed to assert themselves
as strongly as they should in insisting on their rightful place in the Party. With the 2006 fall
elections on the horizon, this is the opportunity to reengage moderates in the Party’s decision
making and election processes. There is much at stake in the fall elections, and many races are
on the line. Now is the time for moderates to reengage for the good of all Americans.

To address this issue, moderates must be active in promoting candidates throughout the
country. Through these races, we have the opportunity to remind the nation that our Party is
committed to such fundamental values as fiscal restraint, reasonable and open discussion of
social issues, environmental policies that promote a balanced approach to environmental
protection, and a foreign policy that is engaged with the rest of the world.

I believe that moderates have to use a concerted strategy if we want to succeed in returning the
party to its traditional, centrist roots. Our efforts must not be limited to prominent races; we must
invest our energies in county, state legislature, and other local races, for it is from the ground up
that we will restore our Party.

The responsibility of ensuring that the Party follows the right path lies with those moderates who
are willing to work to make it happen. Join me in reclaiming our Party and ensuring a return to the
core values the Republican Party advocated for generations.

I hope that you will use this site and all the tools it offers to join our efforts in supporting the
moderate movement!

Sincerely,

Sincerely,

Christie Whitman
